Due to the nature of my position, my current research interests focus on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). In my own courses, this includes enhancing the undergraduate educational experience through the use of active learning in psychology courses, Univeral Design for Learning (UDL), specifications grading, reflective structured dialogue, and increasing students’ motivation and engagement in their courses through service learning (UConn AP Reading Celebration for students in PSYC 2400).
At a broader level, I have been actively involved in assessment at the program level through my role as an Assessment Fellow. I manage the Assessment Plan in the Department of Psychological Science C&C Committee and at the University level for our general educaiton curriculum, the Common Curriculum for Leadership and Global Citizenship. In this role, I have presented at regional and national conferences on the importance of shared governance as it relates to institution wide assessment initiatives. I am also a co-PI for UASCEND, a three-year Davis Foundation Grant running from 2025-2028 at UConn.
